Lexi Gives Back aims to establish a consistent and healthy population of dogs in the township of Paternoster by offering sterilisations and medical care to the dogs in the region — shielding them from unwanted pregnancies, roaming, disease, dog fighting, and theft. They’re dedicated to creating long-lasting change, educating children, and developing initiatives to transform the value given to animals in the township and beyond. Read more

Housing over 6,000 dogs, Smeura, located near Romania’s capital Bucharest, is the world’s largest animal shelter. Managed by Tierhilfe Hoffnung, the on-site team conducts daily rescue and castration missions, actively combatting the issue of stray animal overpopulation in the region and shielding thousands of dogs from killing shelters. Their close ties with various German shelters gives many dogs a chance at a better life.
